Dr. Jareen Meinzen-Derr and Dr. Alex Corley Receive ACTS Awards

We had two outstanding faculty receive awards at the annual Translational Science 2024 meeting!

Congratulations to Dr. Jareen Meinzen-Derr on receiving the Association for Clinical and Translational Sciences (ACTS) 2024 Team Science Award! According to the website, this award was established to acknowledge and catalyze the growing importance of interdisciplinary teams to the translation of research discoveries into clinical applications and eventually widespread clinical practice. It recognizes individuals committed to the advancement of the science of Team Science itself.

Jareen Meinzen-Derr, PhD, MPH, FACE, is the Co-Director for the CCTST, Co-Director for Faculty Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and a Professor in the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and the UC Department of Otolaryngology.

Congratulations also go to Dr. Alex Corley for winning the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at the meeting for her KL2 research project! The 3MT is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia that cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

Alexandra Corley, MD, MPH, FAAP, is an Attending Physician in the Division of General and Community Pediatrics and an Assistant Professor.
